When the Fun Stops, Try Again Review
3rd – 6th December 2024
“I’m about to ring the bell”, warned the theatre attendant as they opened the doors. Inside, there was a table with a variety of different items including: a selection of books; a black notebook; and a game of Connect Four. But, unlike other plays, there were no actors.
Instead, it was up to brave audience members – of which there were plenty – to give it a go, whether that was reading aloud from the screen or selecting one of 50 balls from the box.
You could win £500 and a round of free drinks. You could also stop the show before it even began, or you could win a multipack of wotsits. So, the stakes were high.
Other numbers equate to a script instead which were an insightful and thought-provoking look into gambling addiction, leaving the audience wondering is it worth it? Is it worth trying again?
Without giving too much away, because it really is something you must experience for yourself, When The Fun Stops, Try Again? is incredibly clever and different to anything I’ve seen before.
So, if you have the chance, head over to Camden People’s Theatre in the next couple of days and find out when the fun stops for yourself.
